Re: How many would eat Ohio River crappie?

I'll eat sauger and crappie in moderation as mentioned. As far as mercury goes being in Ky. and using coal burning plants to produce energy I'm fairly sure your going to find traces in all bodies of water...including farm ponds, there's just no way around it. Pollution...it's everywhere and I think people would be surprised as to what an ocean going fish deals with.Just my 2cents besides ,I can see much better with my third eye LOL. Chuck

Kdfw post these at their site and if I'm reading this correctly, there isn't anything wrong with the river that isn't also wrong with some of the lakes.... Does anybody eat fish from green river?

Between the chemicals and poop coming out of the rec boater heads, the trash all over the banks, and the open drains running from the singlewides up and down that river, I don't even like to put my hand in the water if I have a cut or something. NO to eating fish, YES to catching carp and trading it for a General Tso's at a local resturant

Tell me that when you are dying from Cancer in a few years. I'll be that when the cancer is eating at your body and you are in such pain that you want to kill yourself you will regret saying this.

Sure it's easy to say that right now. It's not just about living a couple more years it's living a life that's without pain and anguish.

I would rather get hit by a buss and go quick than to linger around in a hosptial for a month or more.

I use to smoke and back in those days didn't care about lung cancer or any other thing like having a heart attack. But then after I had a heart attack I wished that I had never smoked at all. I'm still alive thanks to some surgeron who gave me new heart arteries but I can't do half the things I used to do. My physical activity is very limited nowdays.

So please don't discount your health. You will live to regret it someday unless you get hit by a buss and go quickly. And we all are not so lucky.

Mercury has never been shown to cause cancer as far as I could see from a few minutes of searching the internet.
