    Barren?

How is the fishing on Barren? Everybody I have talked to said that fishing was pretty decent a couple of weeks ago. I'm not sure about now. Does anybody have any info on the bass fishing going on at Barren?

hybrid are smacking shad raps in rainbow color, suspended over deep channels in about 15 to 20 feet, live shad and crawfish are also producing good fish don't lay you rod down to rig another, come up minus some gear. had one break a #6 shiner hook, not break off but broke the hook first time hook had been out of the pack. bass points, stumps, ours came from working up the banks from deeper channels to nearly on the bank, some good numbers, just have to watch where your running as the lake is rising and there are some new attractors. some stumps a foot or two deep but had to see. we worked as a pair one of us fished bottom with plastics, and the other worked shallow hard baits no top water action for us though.

In total agreeance with the last guy hybrid are doing very well and the crappie fishing seems to be doing well to especially on logs laid over in the water and on submerged brush down around Browns Ford. Im mainly a bass fisherman and most of my luck is coming from texas rigging creature baits such as green pumpkin lizards, crawdads etc...ANYTHING with alot of action and appendages. Most of mine are being caught on rocky bluffs with alot of chunk rock fishing 8-10 feet from the bank and working it back to where it drops off seems like a slow slow presentation where the bait can really show off its appendages is doing best. Carolina rigging these baits is producing to if the wind is blowing switch to willow blade spinnerbait and slow roll it. Bass will also hit the usual crankbait subjects I typically prefer the KVD 1.5-2.5 black and silver or sexy shad. Still some are being caught deep. HAPPY FISHING

Is fishing any good around the Narrows area? Or are you having to make your way back up in the creeks? What I am saying is, where would you dump the boat in at without having to run miles up the lake for good fishing? The Narrows or Beaver Creek?

Definitely the narrows its close enough to everything with super quick access to the main part of the lower end the narrows is surrounded by rock bluffs and the further you go to the dam they just keep producing laid into a nice 4 pounder on the rock wall to the right of the narrows last saturday but i would definitely put in at the narrows. Just not really sure if beaver creek is gonna hold the fish like the other parts are due to slowly rising water levels but the discretion of where ya dump the boat is all on you and where you like the best.

Are you talking about the deeper bluff walls like the one directly in front of the narrows ramp? If so, what types of baits are you using and how deep is the water on these bluffs right now? Are you cranking them, or throwing slower baits like a shaky head?

Exactly and that basically goes for anywhere that your going to have chunk rock walls which barren has an abundance of and we were throwing creature baits such as crawpappys and baby brush hogs and catching fish about every 4th cast but what we are seeing is that bass are starting to move onto the deeper points and ledges to start schooling up being that the spawn is almost if not completely over.

SOKy....the fish are everywhere at barren right now. C-rig flats, jig bluffs, pretty much anything you want to do. Try it all, don't get locked into what we tell you what worked last week. This week could be completely different.

Couldnt agree more with the last guy went to browns ford yesterday and was throwin topwater around stump rows and WOW is all i can say and my fishing partner set the hook on one swimming a jig and broke 30 pound braid. Fishing on barren this time of year is like a smorgisvord whatever you wanna throw they will hit it.
