    Cumberland Report...

A buddy and I fished Cumberland on Monday. Had a very good day despite the weather. Wind was 10-20mph, and rain off and on. But we went up in fishing creek to get out of the wind a little bit. Caught a total of 31, a bunch of LM and KY's, and about 5 SM. Most fish came on a crankbait, however caught 2 on a jig, and 1 on a spinnerbait. Had a lot of fun. Caught about 20 on the main creek, and about 10 up in one cove. Water was 63-66, and a good color, kind of had a green tint to it.

    Forgot to mention....

Forgot to mention.... Of the 31 we caught, we had about 7 keepers. One smallmouth was right at 4 lbs, had 3-4 largemouth between 2 1/2 & 3 1/2 lbs, and had a couple KY's 10-12 inches. Those were the keepers, then we had a bunch of 13-14 inch largemouth. And a couple 15-17 inch smallmouth, and about 8 really small bass.

That place is tough right now.Sounds like you put a hurtin on em. I will say this with all the water issues that lake is going to decline in the next 5 years. Seems to me it already has went down hill alot. Just my two cents.

The water situation has killed our spawns the last four years. Its sad our tournament weights keep going down.

Nice report I killed fish there Tuesday with the clouds in place. Best numbers day I've had on the big C in about five years or so it was awesome. Had some very decent quality to. Almost couldn't fish for what I was after though because them dang pesky striper critters would't stay off my bait......

Yep, when that front cleared from the south and the skies got high and wind switched to the North East it was over pretty quick. I knew then it was time to head to the house....

I didn't get the memo. Still here and still ***** Thursday. Tonight though shad are coming up to dock lights. I hope that means Friday will be better. Compare to 2 weeks ago, this week uneventful.

The fishing Gods must have been with me. Everybody I have talked to has had a bad to so so week down there and Tuesday I had the best day I have had there in quite awhile. Right place right time I guess....
