Exactly, it isn't aginst the law in Kentucky, but it is in Alaska, and if you didn't follow the law that makes you a poacher!

I just hate the fact that a guy who is a convicted poacher in two different states, acts as a spokeperson for hunters. What's next, Bobby Petrino and Rick Pitino acting as spokesmen for the sanctitiy of marriage?

Split Shot, I agree that it really isn't about population control to the average hunter, but the truth of the matter it does come down to population control. While the average hunter wants to kill a deer for sport and food, the bottom line is that if it weren't for these same hunters, there would be no deer, turkey, elk, bear etc. in Kentucky. The hunters are the folks with boots on the ground, spending cash and funding the restoration of these animals. So in the end, it is about managing the population.

I don't support 100% of anyone's actions including myself. I have made mistakes and I would guess so has everyone on this board. Nor do I put ant public figure in a perfect light because I would be so disappointed if I did. Ted is no different.
Here are a few more who should have known better but still made mistakes.
    Jim Baker
    Bill Clinton
    John Edwards
    Countless Catholic Priests
    Eric Holder
    Obuma
    And thousands of others.
Guess all I'm saying is for all teds faults I still like him. I'm not an avid hunter but I do support the NRA and Ted has defended the rights of alot of folks so he's ok in my book. Again I don't jump up and down when I see him or read about him but I don't get disgusted either. I just take the good with the bad.

I liked the videos. I know the second one got him a one way ticket to talk with the secret service. They cleared him but only because they had to get to Columbia quickly to get their prostitutes that they had ordered.

I liked Nugent when I was in the 8th/9th grade...I know he's been in the spot light in recent years but honestly I don't know squat about him, anything about his shows, what he represents or stands for or anything else...but back in the day...that Strangle Hold song was like a national anthem of sorts for us 8th and 9th graders, lol...

He mostly stands for hunting stocked animals on his high fence ranches, making really bad hunting videos and talking like Hulk Hogan, all the while being a poacher!

Tim. There is right, there is wrong, and there is the law. Have you ever seen the law wrongfully applied? I have. The courts don't care what is right, what is wrong, or what is fair. They don't make fair decisions. They make equitable decisions. You may not like Ted for other reasons but he has promoted outdoor sports to a large audience and promotes hunting ethics and our hunting heritage. I just don't like the idea of the political decision by Ft Knox personnel to unilaterally bar him from the concert. The military should stay out of politics. Would you be surprised if your boss docked your pay for voicing your political opinion away from the workplace? I think not.

I just feel like when you travel across so many states hunting, you can easily forget what's legal in one state may not fly in another. Maybe he relied on the guide and the guide steered him in the wrong direction trying to get a better tip, who knows?! I just think the liberal media is just reaching for anything now after he expressed his views of Obama. Anything Obama has done is far worse than anything Ted has done.

He was guilty of breaking game laws in Alaska and California. He accepted his punishment. Maybe he new he was wrong. Maybe he did not know he was wrong. When he was notified of his error(s) he paid the price.

    MOVE ON.

You are welcome to move on if you would like, but not all of us choose to do so, if you don't like reading this thread....MOVE ON!

SInce Ted is considered a spokesman for hunters, which is highly hypocritical, I thought os some other spokespeople we could have.

    Charlie Sheen, speaking for D.A.R.E.
Rick Pitino speaking for faithfulness in marriage.
President Obama speaking on responsible spending.
Bobby Knight and D ick Cheney speaking about hunter safety.
Mel Gibson on relationships with the Jewish people.
    Anyone got others to add?
