    Fiberglass Clean Up

Guys, I have a 1998 Triton and have been working the past year to "clean" it up with items like new carpet and replacing cracked dashes. I am now looking to work on the actual fiberglass. I have a few scratches that I know would be a job to fix by a pro, but I am looking for advice on products or processes that would help repair/fix the normal wear marks. My boats glass stays clean as I always wash it after each use, but we all know the dull look they start to get. There is even some microscopic sun cracks, not stress, that I would love to have some idea to get out. Please offer any advice as I am trying to make my baby look as new as possible again! Thanks in advance and I hope everyone is slayin' em!

    Re: Fiberglass Clean Up

Hit it with a light abrasive compound and a variable speed buffer. Just squirt it on and buff to a gloss. You can lean on the buffer some with no worries, not like automotive finishes. 3M makes a compound called finish it, I think, that works well. Any compound that doesnt cut much will work. The gelcoat and the clear over the flaked areas are fairly robust.
