headed down friday night any advice for stripers in the wolf creek area?
Haven't fished wolf in a long time. Based on other creeks though I would fish about mid creek with bait 20-30 feet deep (watch your graph). Bottom fishing loose shale banks produced some last weekend also. Use Alewives and thread fin if you can.
I have been catching the bait under a light in 30-40' of water for the last month. Netting on and near the main lake seemed to produce more alewives. Mid creek seems to produce more treadfin. The bait is nice and big this year. Last year there was a bunch of very small bait (at least what ended up in my net).
I have heard of some folks casting and catching quite few undersized and some smaller keepers at night on the main lake.
Good luck!
Let us know how you do in this thread when you get back.
Not sayin you womt catch any .....but wolfe would not be my first choice it has produced fish at night since late feb but has slowed way down. If you mist fish wolfe fish the mouth after midnight. The dam area is producing more and better quality fish at night. It has been on the downhill in wolfe since the full moon. I havent fished the past few nights but my son and my buddies have moved out of wolfe caney and lilly mostly due to fewer smaller fish. Best of luck
