Made it out Friday and Saturday night. Lots of ale wive activity from midnight on. The bite was from 2-5 area eastern. We had a lot of strikes. I am embarrassed to tell you how many (like 4 friday and 15 saturday) and we did not get one striper in the boat. We did land a 3lb largemouth but that is it. We were fishing coves off the main lake in the Jamestown wolf creek area. We had the hits on the larger floating red fin reeled with a slow retrieve. We also threw slivers, gizz 4 and a big jointed shallow running bomber with no success. It was a lot of fun but frustrating. It seemed like they were messing with us by smacking the lure around. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to change the approach when you are not hooking up? We sort of had this problem last year but we did land fish. In years past we have never had this problem they pretty much hook themselves. I was wondering if the smaller sized stripers vs the larger red fin was the difference? In years past almost every striper we caught was always a keeper and now it is almost a coin toss.
Thanks for all your alls help! BG
