    Dale trip 5/11-5/13

Hey guys... my father in law booked a couple rooms for the family and heading down for the first time. Probably won't get to go back for a long time due to kids and distance. I was hoping for a little help from some guys on fishin.com. As usual I do not specific spots and any info is secure with me unless told otherwise. I will be fishing for bass, but my father in law will be trying anything that bites. Just some general May patterns and baits is all I'm lookin for. We are staying at Star Point. Thank you very much and any help is greatly appreciated.

Big Hammer swimbait during the day, for the color sexy smelt or smally chaser, and the night bite should be good by then. Black, or black and red hair jigs on a dark night, or if the moon is out brown and orange or some brighter colors. Also check Smalljaw.com there is lots of dale fisherman on there.

Thanks for the help. Time to get the notepad out and make a shopping list! I will be sure to post a report when I return. Has anyone stayed at Star Pointe? Nice place? I also noticed that a tournament will be there the Monday after I leave. Might be an extra day off if I get on em good.

fish should be post spawn and near spawning flats. early and late they should move up and topwater bite this time of year can be awesome. if overcast and rainy, don't forget the chartreuse spinnerbait! if throwing swibaits, go small and deep with the bait crawling on the bottom. also good time for dragging c-rig around said flats. if bite gets slow, the big gills and shell crackers should be going to bed in backs of creeks. some big ones in there! star point is great have stayed there off and on for several years. nice folks good ramps and nice dock to leave boat in water. best of luck!!! post results.
