Smallmouth, and to be honest there isn't even a close second
If I'm looking for a few to eat, I'll go catch crappie
never have fished for smallmouth so i will definitely say a largemouth. getting a topwater strike is so exhilarating.
I don't get to fish for them anymore, but probably my top favorite would be Pike, with large mouth being a very close second. I love small mouth as well, when given the opportunity.
Since I am now trying to learn how to fish man made reservoirs (much different than the natural lakes I used to fish years ago) my answer current answer would be any fish that will bite.![]()
I would have to go with river/creek smallmouth. They fight just as hard out if the water as they do in the water. They're like largemouth on crack!
Snook !!!
Smallmouth, Smallmouth and Smallmouth, lakes rivers or streams, I don't care but smallies are my favorite by a lot.
Crappie cause it's the only thing I'm halfway decent at catching on a regular basis. Lol
REALLY hard to say, because I love both salt and freshwater fishing, but I'll say bluefish, because I've had the most fun fishing for those, either surf-fishing, with a school going by, or in Indian River Inlet, standing on the front platform of by brother's boat with it bobbing around in 3- or 4-ft seas, casting a Hopkin's Jig anywhere I saw seagulls diving. They put up a good fight, too! (the fish, that is, not the seagulls... they just make a lot of noise and foul your line)
Tough question. I enjoy all types of fishing but I think I enjoy catching big cats out of the Ohio river more than most other species.
The power of the river current adds to the excitement of reeling any species in.
