Now THAT would be interesting.I sometimes think that there should be a candidate on each ballot whose name is "NONE OF THE ABOVE." If the candidates do not get votes from some set minimum percentage of the people voting, pick any percentage at all, then there should be a lottery using the active voters names. I do think it would have to be an improvement over most of the candidates running for office. It would at least get some new blood in office.
Did you see in Virginia where a convicted felon beat Obama in the Democratic race......legally, he cannot even collect delegates.
They'd vote for anyone but Obama............

I follow Bug's example, I try and learn as much about the candidates from 1 on 1 interviews. I do not judge anyone by a campaign commercial because a sound bite doesn't give you enough info. In a ddition, if this person has held a previous office or is an incumbent, I will go back and look at their past voting record on the issues I find important. I don't care what they "promise" they will do, I won;t to know what they have done. Inother words, past behavior is a good indicator of future behavior.
