I've also noticed these 20-23" fish are fighting like freight trains. Maybe without as many of those big fish they think they are the big dawgs.

BUT....and this is a big but....these fish are looking healthier than i have seen them in a long time, alot of very fat healthy looking fish. and they are fighting harder than last summer when they were just plain flat out weak , hungry and sickly

Has anybody heard anything new on this?
Has the size limit been lowered to 22" yet or are they still thinking about it?
Thanks in advance for the replies.
waterwings sorry forgot to post....
spoke with kdfwr rep again on the 15th and i am happy to announce i finally pinned them down to a "definite maybe date of possibly the middle of july....or maybe not"
no kidding that is almost word for word the response i got
correct me if im wrong....but do i recall this reg change thing originally containing the word "EMERGENCY"? lololololol !!!!!!!!
by the time this runs its due process all the stripers in c-land will be 25 inches !!!!
i wish they woudl just drop it , seriously, these fish have so much to eat now and they are looking healthier than they have i a couple of years, good and fat for the most part, a good summer of growing and the 22 inchers will be 24 inchers in no time.
JMO....
I said the same thing a few weeks ago and couldn't get anyone's opinions. I have no problems with a summertime 22" limit. But the "emergency" thing seems to be a joke to me. I understand they were stunted some last year, but this year they are taking off again. Maybe its a wait and see if there possibly is an emergency type thing. BUT, the last time I was down it was nice healty keeper fish with a few 20 something fish thrown in. Most reports still have short fish in them. The kicker to me is most reports now are from casting and we always get the sorter more aggressive fish when casting. Those 23 inch fish from last year are probably all legal now and the bait guides are probably cleaning up.
