Bass Lures

Looking to purchase some more bass lures. Trying to but some better quality then $3-7 from walmart. Any help will be appreciated. New to bass angling for the most part. Only been learning for about 2 years. Links to or just names will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do some looking around on Tackle Warehouse for things you don't see at Wal-Mart.

Looks like you live in Louisville. Drive across the river to the BP store in Clarksville. They have practically everything. It's not the cheapest place there is but if you can save shipping or driving cost then it may be the cheapest if you consider everything.

some lures that are easy to fish and produce well when i was learning was a shakey head as it was very easy to fish and produces pretty good around rock and timber or when they get a little deeper.Tip the jig head with a Pro senko or straight tail worm and hang on.

Also hard to beat Rattle baits or crankbaits,simple to use and can produce some quality fish.I tend to stick with Rapala ,bandit,Bomber as they are all reasonably priced anywhere from 4-10 bucks and do very well.

I bank fish, typically with jigs and 6" watermelon seed worm. Frogs and rattle traps for top water. Looking to expand my horizon. Rattle lures are my favorite when using lures

I agree. The fish won't know how much you spent on that lure. Matching color and size of the forage is the most important thing to worry about.

I have actually never caught a fish on buzz bait. Depresses me to admit that when people tell me how great they are. But I know when to throw what colors based on water clarity and the forecast. I typically use 3-6" bait sizes. Never owned anything over that size. Bought 8 A-rigs for $30. Hopefully they produce for me like they have for others.

topwater= pop-r in silver/black or tenn shad (easy to learn, pop,pop,pop pause

twitchbaits= ac shiner will catch anything that swims and the retrieve is whatever you make it (twitch, twitch pause on the surface, steady retrieve subsurface, or reel it down pause and twitch like a jerkbait, however it wont suspend)

in-line spinner= rooster tails of course, joes flies, vibrax spinner

crankbait= kvd 1.5 sexy shad and brn/ylw craw for finicky clearwater fish
bandit 200, 300 series , they rattle, square bill around wood.
regular bill on bluffs and deeper points.
smack tackle gizz 3 and 4 have caught more fish for me this
year than anything in my boat, the finish is ultra realistic and
fish eat it up.

jigs= stan sloane zorro "ninny-fly" an the hoot-n-ninny" are very versatile
jigs in creeks ponds and large lakes. pumpkin and watermelon during the day, blk/blue at night.
brush-hogs in green pumpkin

tube baits- daytime zoom 4 inch tubes in pearl, clear and smoke /prpl flake, if you were fishing humps or drops green pumpkin

pearl flukes, bubblegum flukes

super zara spook in blk/silver, clear, spook junior in blk/silver and on sunny days clear/blue back

and as mentioned above the good ol white buzzbait , usually right at daylight and again right at dark.

there are always "new" baits on the shelf, and most will work in certain conditions.
but i wont give "new" baits very long to prove themselves before i go back to the trusted baits.
