Re: When the bass quit biting

Its funny, because I actually have a rod rigged with a 1/4 ounce jig at all times. I thought I was doing something different. I fish a dropshot some too. I really liked the comment about water elimination. I guess I need to get a decent map, and start keeping track of patterns etc. I would like to diversify my techniques some. It seems like I live and die by a jig or soft plastics on a texas rig.

"What do you do to eliminate non-productive water? How do u even start? I end up using old faithful...something that worked years age and just start beating the banks! Wrong I know... Teach me oh great one"

I had the exact same quetion!! I started by taking Dave Stewart's Eliminating Water class he teaches over the winter. Best $ I've ever spent on fishing PERIOD.

Below is a brief description of the class:

" One thing is for sure, you can't consistently catch bass unless you know how to find them whether you are fishing ledges, banks, points or shallow flats. You can have all the current electronics available in your boat and all the finest rods/reels and lures, but if you do not have a working knowledge of what makes a spot have the highest percentage chance of holding more bass, more often, you can spend a lot of wasted time searching for fish with a lure and/or your electronics. I developed the information you will receive in this class over many years of study and observations and in fact this is the system I use every day to put my clients on bass whether I am on Kentucky Lake or Lake Barkley. The information you will learn in this class will also apply to other lakes and rivers."

I teach a few of these classes in November and then I offer the class 7 days a week in January and February. This class is also a part of my Ledge Teaching trip and also my Lake Familiarization trip.
