I noticed my thread shows it has been moved. Can someone tell me why that is and where did it get moved to?

Not sure "why" it got moved ... but it's obvious "where" it got moved to (Off Topic forum), as you can clearly see the forum title at the top of the page.

I guess that one of the moderators thought it since it was not directly related to fishing that it should be mover to the off topics. Interesting. Have you done a google search for the local papers. Maybe one of the private space vehicles owned by one of the billionaires?

Haven`t done any searches other then the news and I read this morning about a jet pilot who called in spotting some sort of plane or ???? that flew by him at 8000 feet over Denver CO. The news did say it could not be picked up on radar what ever it was.

I can understand why they moved the post. It really does not have anything to do with fishing or then the fact we were fishing when we spotted it.

    A different object

Alright. I was at rowena boat ramp at 4am this last saturday. In the southeast sky looking in the general direction of Beaver Creek there was this really bright star or planet no where near the horizon. Real bright like you say to yourself "that is a really really bright something". The moon was only a sliver but not visible to me at that time. Perfectly clear night and tons of stars visible as can be the case down there. I decided it must be a rare occurrence of some planet. It did not move or change color, just real bright and stationary. Different looking though. I looked at it several times and while I was staring at it dimmed to nothing over about a three second time frame as if somebody turned a light out. It did not instantly shut off it dimmed like the lights in my car when I get out and lock it. From quick googling it seems a planet would not be there plus I have never seen a planet just go dark in the middle of the sky for no apparent reason with zero clouds in the sky.

Has any body seen something like this?

I probably would not have taken more than a passing note of this but the thing went dark while I was looking at it.

I didn't see any aliens although I did feel a bit like the Green Hornet when I put my green bait light out which lit up the water in the cove.

Peter, It was likely Saturn. I believe it is currently really bright in the sky right now. If you know anyone with a good telescope get it out one night and you can see the rings. The dimming was probably some faint clouds you couldn't detect in the early morning sky.

    Re: Unidentified object

I have been seeing a large very bright object in the eastern sky behind my house for the past 2 or 3 years. Sometimes it will dim for a few minutes and brighten again; I'm assuming it's clouds passing in front of it. At other times on a clear night, it just stays bright. NAS is about 50 miles away and I called them and was told that it is a weather balloon. They said that, if it falls on my property (it won't) to follow the instructions on the tag and do not remove anything from it. They also said to leave it in the place where it fell and they will pick it up.

It's so peaceful to sit on my back porch late at night and look at it along with all the stars.

My binoculars may help some If I can remember to use them. The light did not get dim. It totally went out and disappeared never to return that night. Who knows.

You didn't know they turn Saturn off once a day? Seriously that is odd though.

    Re: Unidentified object

I love fishing at night, and when the fish are picky about what they like to eat. I fish a jig real slow, and look at the beauty of the night sky. anyone that looks into the night sky, has to wonder what it will be like after this life is over. we all have seen some beautiful sights in our life, and I find the night sky to be at the top of the list. and the Lord said in his word, the eye hasn't seen and the ear hasn't heard what in store for them that love the Lord. and as for the night lights, over the years I have watched two different lights, in the sky just go out and I watched for them to come back on, but I never did see them again.
