Gas prices has really kept my boat in the garage more and I need to replace my old truck.
To answer your question once or twice a week, even if it's just a pond or the creek.

2 days a week. One full week in spring at Barren with my dad, and one week in December to get some smallies at Cumberland. Winning lottery this week would increase the numbers to what days do i not fish!

Re: How often do you go fishing?

Thanks for all the interesting replies to my question. It is encouraging to see so many of you fishing so often. My back gives me so much trouble that so far since buying a boat I find it hard to fish as often as most of you. I need to see if I can figure out a way to lessen the back pain when I go, so I can try and increase how often I am able to go. There is not much I enjoy more then being out on a lake fishing. I waited so many years to get a boat and get back into fishing that I didn't even realize how much I had missed it.

since I only live 4 miles south of the Wolf Creek Dam I can be on the water in the river or lake in less than 15 min. I fish 3 to 4 times a week.

Two to three times a week on average in the spring. Summer is usually once a week. Fall is up and down depending on if I want to fish or bow hunt and there are times I have done both on the same day. In the winter it is usually a couple of times a month.

Hey Rooster, unfortunately I haven't been to Wolf Creek Dam since I was a kid. I'm looking to take my Angling Kayak down there soon for a weekend trip on the tailwaters. If you don't mind I may get some pointers from you about where I should camp, where I could/should put in and take out, etc. I know I don't want to get too close to the **** in just a sit on top kayak. I'm experienced on the water, but mainly I just want to be safe.

I'd love to catch one of those big brown trout, but anything I catch will be fun. I'm pretty much a catch and release Largemouth fisherman, but I do like to cook up a few rainbows on the fire.

I can't really afford a guide at this time, but hopefully next year I can do that.

chiphunt there is a campground and boatramp right below the dam. you can check the generation times to see when you can yak at the dam. lots of people do with even one generator running. the walleye and sauger are biting if you can catch the water right. the name of the campground is kendall and it is a nice campgroud with water and electric and bath houses
