Hey Rooster, unfortunately I haven't been to Wolf Creek Dam since I was a kid. I'm looking to take my Angling Kayak down there soon for a weekend trip on the tailwaters. If you don't mind I may get some pointers from you about where I should camp, where I could/should put in and take out, etc. I know I don't want to get too close to the **** in just a sit on top kayak. I'm experienced on the water, but mainly I just want to be safe.

I'd love to catch one of those big brown trout, but anything I catch will be fun. I'm pretty much a catch and release Largemouth fisherman, but I do like to cook up a few rainbows on the fire.

I can't really afford a guide at this time, but hopefully next year I can do that.

chiphunt there is a campground and boatramp right below the dam. you can check the generation times to see when you can yak at the dam. lots of people do with even one generator running. the walleye and sauger are biting if you can catch the water right. the name of the campground is kendall and it is a nice campgroud with water and electric and bath houses
