Went to Stoner on Saturday (5/12/12) and fished the Fryman's pool. It was very stained, i would even say muddy. My buddy and I fished for about 6 hours, and only caught 5 fish. All 5 were largemouth, and the biggest was about 2 1/2 lbs. The other 4 were dinks. We talked to several other people who were fishing, and no one was having much luck. We threw everything from jigs, shakey heads, crankbaits, tubes, texas rigged worms, spinner baits, etc.... They just weren't biting very good. Water temp was around 70. The couple we did catch, 4 of them were on shakey head, and one on a jig. If you go, i hope the water has cleared up a bit and you do better than we did!
Creek cleared throughout the day and temps reached to 74 by afternoon. Fishing was slow in most spots and mostly smaller fish. We did catch 22 but only one went to 16" then the next largest one was 10". Caught them on everything we threw-tube jigs, cranks, spinnerbaits, senko, and topwater. Caught majority of fish in two different areas then rest of creek was slow. Main stem stayed very stained though and for the first time for me, we caught more fish up Stoner rather than Strodes.
