Did you change anything else besides the presentation? Line? Rod? Fishing depth? Just thinking it might not be the hook itself. Maybe they need to hold it for a few seconds longer?

Changing the hook size and or style is easy enough. I like the Gammy EWG's and have tried the cheaper manufacture versions and had problems with them. What brand do you use?
