Isn't It Ironic?

I think the food stamp program, is the best thing ever done with tax dollars. and I've heard so many people over the years, bad mouth the food stamp program. the government isn't going to save any tax money, no matter how much they collect. if they stop the social program that feed the hungry kids and anyone else that need the food stamps. they will just spend the money they save from the program, on some kind of weapons of war, and they already have enough weapons to destroy the world a dozen times over. I wonder how many million people in the USA, 6 years ago. that had a good job and a nice home, and has said they need to do away with food stamps. and they thought they would never be homeless and need food stamps them self. and they find them self in line today for the stamps. it's funny how time changes things, a man on top of the ladder today may be on the bottom step next month or year. and it's a good thing that the sun don't shine on the same dog's behind all the time.

I agree with a lot of folks in that the food stamp program is abused by a lot of folks... I have seen it myself and am sure a lot of you guys that post here have also but I agree with you that is one government program that does a lot of good for lots of folks that actually need it... I don't believe we do enough policing of the food stamp program as well as the other subsidies that depend on tax payer dollars... I guess it is easy to understand why some hard liners are critical of the program, most of us know of folks who seem to always be hanging around on the streets doing nothing and we drive past them on a daily basis on our way to work... What we don't see are the working people who need them in order to feed their family and before somebody tells us that those folks need to get a second job if that what it takes, everybody don't have the time to work two jobs and still take care of their family.
