Funny thing.....I almost went into teaching years ago.

I imagine the very Union that I rail against ALL the time would have been working overtime to keep my ASS employed.

    Funny how things work out.

Just to be clear. I am no fan of the teachers union, quite the opposite. I do empathise with teachers and what they face in today's world. Matter of fact, my wife and I felt so strongly against what the teachers union does, that she refused to join. They made it very clear to her that if she would get sued or something like that they wouldn't help her. We discussed it and chose to stand by our principles and not support the union regardless of the increased risk we would expose ourselves to in doing so.

However I support teachers. My sister was a teacher, and I married one, I think they are often underpaid, under appreciated and often abused for the privilege.

As far as liberal teachers, while I have always grown up conservative with many of my views, I have to say I have had a few very liberal teachers, that were excellent and challenged me when supporting my beliefs in a way that required me to learn. I do though agree, and believe the pendulum has swung too far to the left. However IMO the real problem is liberal curriculum's directed from those further up the food chain then the teachers. Too often it appears there is now a orchestrated liberal agenda when it comes to school curriculum's. With individual teachers though, I think you can find good and bad ones from both liberal and conservative backgrounds. A quality teacher can be either.
