    Re: fishing etiquette

Many years ago , I was fishing at a dam from shore with a friend and we were catching alot of fish when two guys in a boat drove up and anchored 20 fewet off shore right in front of us. My friend asked them if they would move so we could continue to cast our lines. They yell a few choice words at us and said they could fish whereever they wanted. My bud pulled out his liscensed concealed 9 milimeter and said they either move or he was going to sink their boat. It is amazing how a few choice words can convince boater to change their mind about where they want to fish ..They left .. to bad it had to come to that..

    Re: fishing etiquette

There are times I would rather the guy in the other boat would just keep his throttle down and zip by rather than try to shut down once he is on top of me.

At Guist Creek last year I was fishing along a bank on main lake using the trolling motor. Then this jackleg in a pontoon came from way behind me and zipped by close enough for me to flip a bait into his boat. He was headed into the ski zone. Very rude.

One thing I don't think I would do is pull a gun on anyone over a "spot". It just isn't worth it. What if the guy decides to call you on it? Are you really going to shoot him? There is too much water out there to get that mad. And you sure can't catch fish while sitting in the pen.
