    Re: Herrington Bass

So far I have had my best luck in the evening and right before dark, which seems odd since everyone says to fish after dark. After dark are you suppose to change the method of fishing? Slow Down a bunch? Went yesterday, I had bought a watermelon jig and put a craw trailer on and had pretty good luck until after dark and it went dead. I switched over to a darker lure (June bug trick worm on a shakey head) and caught one but it was a lot slower than it had been.
    Thanks for the reply,

    Question Re: Herrington Bass

I just moved to Nicholasville and I plan to night fish Herrington quite a bit in the coming months. Thanks for the advice pappy! Please keep the knowledge coming. Also what other, possibly more fruitful, alternatives are there to Herrington for good bass fishing in the this area??

Midlake to the river is where ive had my best luck. Sweet beaver around docks at night and a big 10 inch worm or a black jig with a baby paca or zoom swim chunk trailer around chunck rock banks and wood. Find the wood, find the bass most of the time just depends on if they are 30 foot deep or 3 foot deep. They are moody down there.

    Re: Herrington Bass

Yeah thanks! I went out from about 9:00am until 5:30pm the other day (yes I know not the best time) and threw a deep diving crank and did better than I even had. Also caught a pretty nice 3 and a half pounder. Caught most of them off points and also off the deep ledges where you can be right up against the rock and be 30-40 feet down. I started out using a craw colored crank but switched over to "Baby Bass" and off the first cast caught the 3 and a half pounder, so I stuck with that. Still haven't gotten to do any night fishing really, hoping to in the near future. If you all like I can continue to report in on how things are going. I usually will try different things every time out.

    Thanks again for the advice,
    Nate
