Re: So much fishing tackle. What do I take?

It's not until after we've obtained all of these things that we then realize how many times we ouselves have been "caught" in stores like ****'s, Bass Pro or Walmart and online at Tacklewarehouse.com, etc...

I'm truly in my happy fishing place when all I have is a small 14' - 16' aluminum boat, 20-25 horse tiller outboard and a trolling motor...or better yet, waders!

+1 on the waders, nothing is more fun than hooking into a big smallmouth in a creek

I was thinking those exact thoughts when I posted.

When I returned to fishing in my adult years I'd sit with a notepad and write down all the lures and gizmos the pros were using when I watched In-Fisherman,Bill Dance, etc. Most of that carp is still in it's original box, sitting next to the popeil pocket fisherman.

My best friend growing up has one of those Pocket fisherman. It was handy if you wanted to carry it along to non fishing outing where you knew there would be fishing accessible at some point.

I doubt they are still made, but I bet you could find one on e-bay if you keep your eyes out for one.

Some of those look like they might be new. Maybe they do still make them.

No you don't, want one that is.

Just google popeil and you'll find it's still available but it's priced around $29.00 plus shipping. You'd be better off with a discount combo outfit from any box store.

Ah, if it was so easy. I am taking a hiatus from alcoholic beverages. Bourbon is (was?) my choice. Finally decided that alcohol was not conducive to my longevity and sanity.

This will be my fourth fishing trip on the wagon. It's tough at times but I'm hanging in there.

I "learned" to drink in my college keg days. Drink all you can as fast as you can for as long as you can.
I can start and last with the best of y'all but I can't stop once I start. I drink (used to) till I got drunk. After all these years I've decided it's better to not start at all.
