Might b just us but its a little tough to find the bigger fish. We caught close to40 today biggest was 4.7 had another on about the same size. Almost all fish xame on the Carolina . With a few on football head jigs
Can't go wrong on the ledges on the river. Mouths of creeks will hold fish. enjoy
If you want to fish for bass on KY lake it's best to fish early in the morning. Get up before sunrise and have your boat on the water just before the sun comes up. hug the bank until the fog lifts and you can see where you are going. Use the Humminbird or Lowrance Radar if you have them so that you can see other boats and shorelines and islands.
When the sun starts to come up over the horizon the morning bit will not last much longer. Fish will sink back down the ledges into deeper water or suspend out over the deeper water but still within reach of the feeding spots such as long sloping points or underwater humps and islands.
The heads of the islands can hold fish if there is a creek running though the area.
There is a spot like that on Shannon Creek on KY lake that has an old creek channel that runs though the area near the head of the Island. Head being the part of the island that the current flows into and make contact with the island first. We use to fish that spot every day early in the morning. It was a ten minute boat ride in clear weather from our cabin but if it was foggy it would take longer to get there.
Once the sun come up we would quit fishing around ten am and go back and take a nap and then get up and go back out and fish from 4 pm to dark.
When you do this you will catch some nice bass.

Well after 3 days of fishing we caught around 150 fish. The ledge bite for us was very inconsistent. We would catch 5~6 the they would just quit. But the dock bit was on fire all day long. Caught a couple good fish around 4 but yhe biggest fish of the trip came off coming to the boat, it looked to be ckose to 5. The bigger fish was coming on the football head jig, but for numbers shakey head, Carolina rig, seemed to do the best.
you cant you have to have a radar to do that...![]()
