    trolling motor problem

I have lost a lot of my power on trolling motor. My switch to change speeds on my motorguide 12v trolling motor does not change. Is there a way to increase speed without tearing the foot control apart? Had a little wiring problem a little while back (fuse blew). Can the wiring to battery make it slower? thanks

May not be in the foot control. I had the same thing happen on my minn-kota 24 volt and
the problem was in the motor area. Some wiring got hot due to ??? and had to replace the
parts (name unknown) to fixit it. TAKE it to a qualified trolling motor repair person. Unless
you really know how to repair one it may cost you more than if a qualified service person
    would charge.
