I fished Bluegrass Saturday for a while from around 10 am to 1 pm. I caught one small bass and hooked one good bass that got off when he jumped. But I got a good look at him a few times before he got off. He jumped as soon as I started reeling him in. And he jumped again when he got within 15 ft of the boat. I had about 50 ft of line out when I hooked him. He bend the road over pretty good so I knew I had a bite.

Fishing was not as good as before but I did get a chance to test out the new Lakemaster Map of Bluegrass Pit to see how well it's depth contours matched up to my boat's position and depth readings on my sonar unit. Some areas were dead on right and other areas in the shallows were showing the water to be shallow on the map when it was really 19 ft deep.

But it was good to get out on the water. I was late going fishing Saturday as I had to do some work on my boat trailer before I left. Also had to check out the spark plugs as they were getting fouled up with carbon as I've been going at idle speed a lot these last few trips. I need to take the boat out on the river or to Patoka Lake so that I can open up the motor and blow the carbon out. But until I do that I'll just remove the spark plugs and soak them in Sea Foam and clean them with a file or sand paper. The boat runs better at slow speed now that I cleaned the spark plugs. I had a little trouble starting the motor the last time out so I figured it was time to take a look at the spark plugs.

Next item on the to buy list is a side planer board.
