Any body else fishing cave run this weekend? 2 days and ive only been able to catch 1 on a buzz bait.ive literally fished every which way i know how, in the day and night.
and Ive gotten my butt kicked! Anybody actually catching anything?

Well I guess we'll give it another go round , here in a few hours..take a fishin light and hit it hard all night..I really dont wanna leave here w/o catchin some fish..this has been the most challenging lake ive fished..hopefully its a weather thing, but im def not feelin it right now.

I will be out in the morning to fish it if the rain holds off. The weather definately plays a big factor on that lake. Also if the spillway is pulling water hard it tends to pull the fish off the banks. I had been catching them on the weed beds.

We went back out for a hour or two before dark..Still never really got a bite..so we called it quits early.. Ive never had a run of bad luck like that before..I was really lookin forward to this trip, but left disappointed..Maybe next time I guess..We talked to a few people and no one had a good weekend..so at least I dont think it was me

The morning bite was pretty good I hooked 3 but only got one in the boat. I lost an absolute pig on top water bait early. Everything died after 1030 and picked back up again when the big winds came. I put 4 in the boat and lost 4. I can't remember the last time I lost that many fish.

Don't tell anyone but i got 3 days of skunk at the big G in Al a few years ago.Havn't been back..............

Try topwater over the grass on the big Zilpo flat early. Then start throwing shallow diving cb on the same flats, but near where the water drops off. Plastics will work too. i like to fish the south bank of Beaver Creek and the bank right by Clays Lick Ramp near the campground with plastics. The mainlake point by the Zilpo campground fish around that (Southside) and then hit the northern rocky bank as you come around the point. Try shad color shallow square bill cranks. You should pick up some fish in all of these areas.

I fished Cave Run this past Sunday and caught one decent large mouth in the lake off of a stump and another up the river (Bangor Ramp) off of a rock cliff. Both came from around 10 feet of water. It was a very tough day and the wind was horrible!

Thanks everybody.. The one I did actually get boated actually came off those grass beds at zilpo.. buzzbait around 8 or so.. the other fish was back in a cut off of a minnow, thought it was a crappie so I didn't get a good hook set, lost it at the boat..And yeah, the pressure and wind on the lake was absolutely horrible..I had a brand new deep cell battery on my little 43 lb trolling motor, and the volt alarm was screamin at me by the end of the day. It seems like a real nice lake, and isn't too awe-full far from me, so I'd def like to go back for vengeance..
