Do any of you ever have such a bad day when you couldn't even catch a fish with a net?
Anybody no how to regain your confidence?
Lol no but I have had some bad days on the water! No fish, lost equipment, broke equipment, broken bones, missed opportunities in tournaments and terrible weather!!! It's still better than working and getting outdoors is the ultimate escape...
I would go out and just do what you like to do to catch fish. It will come around...sometimes the fish win.
A good ol' bobber and wax worm will do the trick. I went on a two day trip to ky lake last year and was skunked till the last five mins when I put on a tube jig under a bobber and caught a bluegill. That's why it's called fishing and not catching.
Ye , But all I fish for is Bass! I've read ever book I could get hold of. Used to subscribe
to 4 Bass mag. watch all the shows ,hired Ky Lake guide 0 on that day on Bass, only
caught Strippers.I think I suffer from brain damage from while my heart was pumping
15% . LOL
This is basically me when it comes to fishing. No joke, I can't even remember the last time I actually caught a fish. So I'm pretty much the worst fisherman on the planet. I don't have a boat so I'm forced to fish from the shore. Yet I keep on trying, going several times a month usually, mostly on Elkhorn. It is very frustrating not to catch a single fish, not even a bluegill! But I feel that I learn something new every time. For me it's all about learning. I'm relatively new to serious fishing. So I enjoy learning as much as I can in the hope that someday I can at least catch SOMETHING every time I go. I'm confident that I will start having success at some point in the future. But until that time comes I will keep reading and visiting sites like this one to learn as much as I can to improve my "game".![]()
When it is super slow I will always reach for my shakey head rod and go to work! If you just put in your mind that the fish are pressured or there was a moving weather front and you need to finesse the fish it will make it easier on your noggin. Grab a 3/16th oz spot remover hook with a netbait finesse worm in watermelon candy and dip the tip of the tail in a chartreuse dye and go to work. Drag along the bottom real real slow and see if that helps you to start catching some....... works for me everytime
Get some 10" june bug worms and spend an evening at Green River lake this week you will feel like a pro.
I had a 3 day trip to Cave run this weekend, that had me contemplating it seriously! Its a part of it I guess..But when you go buy a new boat and all the trimmings and prepare for a trip 3 weeks in advance, it'll def take the wind outta your sails when the weekend doesn't go as you thought it would.
Sounds like the new boat jinx! Lol...it will pass.I had a 3 day trip to Cave run this weekend, that had me contemplating it seriously! Have these days often and when i do i break out the old spinning rod and a silver and black quarter ounce rooster tail and hit the creeks in the old canoe puts me in the mind set of being a kid again and i get back to the basics of fishing sometimes just getting back to the basics can put you on top of your game
