The trout in Dix River below the dam has been in decline in my opinion for the past 3 years. I think the trout get washed out into the KY River during high water times. I have not caught any trout over 12" in the past 2 years. As for bass, it depends upon whether KU is running the river and what the water conditions of the KY are as to what fish come up into the Dix. The water temperature in the Dix flucuates greatly depending upon water release at the dam and how much the KY backs up into the Dix due to flooding.
