wading shoes

Was wondering what kind of sandals or shoes do most of you wear for wading in the summer months? Need to get something better than running shoes and flip flops.

For the last several years, I've worn the lace-up river runners that BPS sells. Good traction, etc. but impossible to keep rocks out. This year I've tried the Simms wading socks that you wear with the regular wading shoe. They're comfortable but if jumping in and out of a kayak I get a lot of water in the boat.
