Are you tired of all the hokey stuff the marine dealers and big name sports stores sell? All the wierd widgets that don't really do all that much? Whose going to invent, perfect and sell some of the stuff we really need:
a. "The Shad Ladder": Just like a fish ladder around dams, it's a set of stairs for shad to gain access to your life well. It attaches to your transom with 2 big hooks. If has a small light at the lake level, to lure in shad, and a bigger light at the top of the ladder for the shad to be attracted to the top before they drop into your live well. It plumbs up to your livewell spray head, so water cascades down the steps, to the light at the bottom creating oxgenated water for the shad to be invigorated as they climb into your live well.
b. "Boat Plug Alarm": A boat plug embeds a small sendng unit, a sensor at the end of the driveway, and a clip on alarm unit that clips to your truck visor. Wireless and runs on 2 AA batteries, the unit would send a sreaming siren into your truck if you leave the driveway and the boat drain plug is not in the drain hole.
c. "Boat Drain Plug Reverse Lockout": Kind of like the deal above, but the pickup will not go in reverese when it sees a boat ramp sensor and your boat plug is not in.
d. "Swim Back Lure": A 8 inch lure that runs on 2 D cells, that you launch from the boat with an airgun to distances up to a 1/2 mile away. It activates when it hits the water, and when it gets hit but a lunker bass, it kicks into overdrive and drags the bass back to the boat. Think of it as an automated "Prop Bait" on steroids.
e. "Lake Alert Fishfinder": A unit that mounts into your boat and uses GPS and Satelite imagery to check 6-8 lakes and shows you where the fish are on each lake "BEFORE" you leave the driveway and waste the gas to get there.
f. Reverse Mortgages on Boats: Need I say more. The dealer pays you to take it off the floor as long as you promise to do warranty repairs somewhere else.
g. "The Cast Net Cannon": It's powered with a 5 gallon 12 volt air compresssor, and only requires you to dump the net in the barrell, point it, and squeeze a trigger to shoot a net 40 feet out from teh boat where the sahd are unaware you are around.
So where is the real stuff we need?
And why not a small panfish hook with an eye big enough that old eyes don't have to struggle so much to get the line through it.... Tying a drop shot rig I have to tie a little snap to attach the hook because it is tough getting a doubled line through the eye to tie a palamar knot.
