I guess BUSH is to blame.
I really don't understand how the future price can be 1/2 what it was 4 years ago YET gas prices are nearly DOUBLE what it was 4 years ago.
AMAZING.
Simply AMAZING.
Time to vote them all out.........and instill a 4 year term limit.
Get rid of all lobbying
Get rid of all congressional benefits
Get rid of all congressional retirement benefits
We gotta pay for Obamacare somehow!!! LolI guess BUSH is to blame.

Yeah this blows for sure!
Geo,
Come south a little bit. Etown gas is 3.24 most places. KY Gas Prices.com says prices they are running 3.09 to 3.16 in Campbellsville.
You northerns just pay too much for stuff. :-)
1/2 4 years ago? What data source, here's mine

And doing all that is going to bring down the price of gas? Of course it's not Bush'e fault, but it's sure not Obama's, either. This problem has been around since long before he came into office, and it will be there long after he's gone.I guess BUSH is to blame.

Go ahead, blame the Democrats for high gas prices. I'll remember this after the Republicans take over.
It is funny how folks blamed bush for ALL the oil issues when he was the prez. EVERYONE did.....His big RICH oil friends were causing all the problems. And doing all that is going to bring down the price of gas? Of course it's not Bush'e fault, but it's sure not Obama's, either. This problem has been around since long before he came into office, and it will be there long after he's gone.

Oil companies were getting filthy rich........bla, bla bla.
I don't quite understand why gas has not dropped more, especially since it is obvious demand around the world is off.
I suspect there is some gouging going on.
My post really was more about WHY.....not really posting blame.
I do suspect gas prices will drop significantly as we move closer to the election though

Geo

* Term limits will eliminate their self serving antics........both sides
* Getting rid of all lobbying........YOU BET. But then I don't think our form of gubment would work.
* Congressional Benefits. If the Congress had no benefits, there would be NO REASON to make a lifetime of it.
* Retirement benefits......again yea.....eliminate them. They serve the people, and if they served for only 4 years, that is a very short period of their working life. How about we prorate their benefits for the 4 YEARS they serve. Better yet, how about we tie them to PERFORMANCE.
To be fair the democrat brain trust did blame Bush while he was in office and even when he was gone. So....I blame Obama (with a smirck on my face) as payback.

It's a game being played on us tax payers by the elected officials. It's just the Dems turn!

The EPA passed rules that are IMPOSSIBLE for refiners to follow, so instead of relaxing the rules, they use the FAULTY rule to collect fines (taxes) from the refiners......
Gotta love our gubment.

Unfortunately, too many folks on both sides of the aisle do the same. So rather that getting anything done each side blames the other and the sheeple line up with their "guy" in blaming the other side. Meanwhile both parties bend us over and we continue to take it. Throw blame when its due, I have no problem, but the manipulation of the true and half-truths being spouted by both side is way past being old. Just listen to the majority of the adds by either of the major presidential candidates and you want to slap them both upside the head.
As much as I hate to agree with Geo, I do agree with these ideas:

Won't do a thing about the gas/oil prices, but will fix plenty of other problems. And while we are at it, reverse the corporations are people crap that the supreme court passed recently. High time that the PEOPLE runned the country, not the corporations.

This is exactly my point. The media and dems said it so much people believed it. I'm confident these loes spewed by the dems won them votes. That's all that mattered. It will happen over and over again from both sides. It's funny to see how the dems crawdad away from there statements from years ago in the media now.Unfortunately, too many folks on both sides of the aisle do the same. So rather that getting anything done each side blames the other and the sheeple line up with their "guy" in blaming the other side. Meanwhile both parties bend us over and we continue to take it. Many on here did the same thing. I'm sure they knew better but it was a jab during one of the many discussions.
Washington is corrupt, we all know that, but when one smooth talking candidate shows up people think things are gonna "change".
The country needs a real leader not some unqualified candidate with no proven record of doing anything.
