We are looking at some other options for our November fishing trip this year. We have gone to KY lake for the past 5 years and are looking for a change of scenery for a year. I Have never been to Barren and was looking for lodging or cabins to stay at. One great thing about LBL is the many, many cabins and lodges available. We usually have a group of 10 guys. Are there any cottages available close to Barren???

State park is the only game in town that I know of for cabins. They have a lodge with hotel-like rooms as well but I have never stayed in either.
Barren is kind of out in no-man's land between Glasgow and Scottsville. There are some bait stores and gas stations but that is about it.
Not trying to deter you from coming just know that it isn't like west shore of Kentucky lake.
Also, they start drawing it down around September 15. At winter pool it is about 25 foot below summer pool. I highly doubt it makes it to summer pool this year.
Check out the Narrow Way Bed and Breakfast. They rent the basement level out to groups. I am not sure how many people they can handle. They are great folks and several of my buddies have had great experiences there. We are looking at some other options for our November fishing trip this year. They advertised with us some. Place looked super nice. Geared for fishermen and a private lake to fish too.

Much like KY, you need to pay attention to lower water levels. Lots of places to lose a prop.
