    Need some ideas

OK I built a bait holder out of a 55 gallon barrel. I have the 12 volt pump hooked to it and runs great. Really keeps the bait alive. The problem I have is that I have the pump hooked to my battery charger and it works great but I want something more permanent. I tried a 12 volt power supply but it got to hot. Any one have any ideas what I can use it needs to be on 24 hours about 4 to 5 days

Just a thought. How about one of those 110 volt/ac pond pumps?

Just figure out the gph you have on the 12 volt pump, and hit Lowe's or Home Depot to see what you can buy with that level of flow the cheapest. You might also browse thru a Big Lots, as they are carrying more lawn and garden stuff then before.

Might be worth spending a couple bucks for a 110 pump, as you'd be saving the wear and tear on the battery charger that might cost more if you had to replace it.

What about a 110volt/AC aeartor, instead of the pump.
Basspros has one for about $25.00 they say is rated for up to 50 gallon tanks.

Second link is for the OEM of the pump and shows what air pump they recommend for different size tanks.

i would think a 12 volt transformer from a model train set or race car set would work it turns 110 volts to 12 for use with your pump

AC to DC power converter. If 6 amps is enough power this link to Amazon should do the trick http://www.amazon.com/Schumacher-PC-...o+dc+converter
