Night Fishing

just got back from bass fishing at a local government lake and had decent success. we boated 5 fish with the biggest being a little over 3 lbs. all fish were caught on a crankbait or a football jig with a craw trailer. These fish were deep! with the last one in 24 ft. tryed a few types of topwaters and texas rigged worms but no luck. What do all of you other guys/gals have luck with fishing at night? also what do you look for on a lake when fishing at night?
