I think it's universally understood, yep. LOL
I produced a weapon one time in my life. A buddy of mine and I were night fishing and had put in at this really remote ramp. I'm talking a lot of real estate between there and anywhere with anybody or anything. We fished until about 3:00am and had caught a few, but a storm was coming in, so we headed back to the ramp. I went and got the truck, my buddy trailered the boat, and we were sitting in the parking lot strapping down and buttoning everything up. Out of the darkness and middle of nowhere stumble two rough looking dudes out of the woods. They stood about 20 yards from us, just staring. We were both a little uncomfortable, but went on about our business. Then they started easing up a little closer. One of them mumbled "Sure is a nice truck ya got there buddy" and I said "Yeah, thanks" or something like that. He took another couple steps closer to me and something just didn't sit right in my gut. I kept an old Winchester 1300 pump laid under the back seat in the extended cab, which I had quick access to because the seat was flipped up and the driver door was sitting open. My buddy was strapping down the trolling motor and I just casually reached in the back, pulled out the shotgun, racked it, and laid it across the front of the boat at arm's reach. I didn't say anything, didn't point it, just made it known that I had it. They never said another word...just stood there. We finished up quick, I laid the gun back in the truck, and we got out of Dodge. I'm not sure what would have happened if I hadn't had the shotgun. Maybe nothing...or maybe all hell would have broken loose. All I know is that my spidey-senses told me that something was wrong and I needed to get out of there quick. I believe to this day that they had intentions of trying to steal my truck and his boat. I know that the experts say to never show your cards unless you have decided to fire...they could have been harmless, felt that their life was being threatened and drawn weapons on me...but I feel like that old Winchester laying on the deck saved us from a bad situation.
Peace through superior firepower works...
