So I was just getting into the boat, and about ready to get under way. Making the last adjustments and about ready to head out. The skys were blue last I look up before boarding the boat. I sensed it getting dark, the winds came out of no where, the thunder was crashing around me. Lightning lit up the helm. The rain was coming down in sheets, and the winds were bouncing the boat around terrribly. I thought the boat was going to tip over in the blasts of wind.
So I jumped out of the boat and ran back into the garage.......sure glad I hadn't left yet.

Did you catch anything? Going makes you crazy but going an not catching anything makes you insane.
I was knee-deep in Elkhorn Creek with my daughter when the first winds came up. Heard this loud creaking sound and both of us knew this 8-ft. around sycamore in front of us was about to go. Moved about 25 yards down the creek, and with the next gust that huge tree crashed into the water right where we were standing. Fished all my life and that's only the second time I've ever witnessed a tree that large fall. The volume level was amazing.
But if you had not been there, would it still have made a noise?I was knee-deep in Elkhorn Creek with my daughter when the first winds came up. I was working in the Smacktory and listening to the radio all day and not once did they say a bad storm was coming. I heard nothing and didn't see anything until I opened the front door to leave. I thought a tornado was coming through.
That would be amazing to witness. I have seen large limbs fall while fishing but no trees.I was knee-deep in Elkhorn Creek with my daughter when the first winds came up.
