re: Elizabeth Warren: Maybe at one time she did have a little indian in her.
What if we spin Obama's thoughts around. If the business had not been successful, and paid taxes on their gains, and hired people who made wages and paid taxes on them, then the govt would not have had the money to build the roads, and bridges, and hire the cops, and invent the internet.
The government sources of revenue include:
-42% Individual income taxes, most of which is because people work and earn money.
-40% from payroll taxes, again a business hired people to do that.
- 9% corportate income tax.
So, Individual income taxes and payroll taxes accounted for 82 percent of all federal revenues in fiscal year 2010. Corporate income taxes contributed another 9 percent.

So I contend Mr Obama got it backwards as usual. The government flowed benefits to business only after business generated the tax revenue that provided the money to do all those wonderful things.
http://www.heritage.org/federalbudge...income-earners. This page opened my eyes. The top 10 percent of income earners paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes in 2009 though they earned 43
percent of all income. The bottom 50 percent paid 2 percent of income taxes but earned 13 percent of total income.
I think the problems is how much we spend and on what. I think of it like a tub of water. In my mind, the budget tub of water has and adequate intake pump, we just have to reduce the size of the drains.
