12 year old young man with his belated birthday present-42 lb striper .His dad booked his birthday striper trip on Cumberland River for late June, but with low water and poor fishing condtions, had to reschudule till conditions improved. This young man can cast with the best, started throwing topwater lures this morning at 6:30 and did not put rod down till 12-no breaks/nothing but cast, cast, cast. At 8 am ,fish hammered his lure-no help of any kind except moral support from me or Dad.took several pics,Dad asked "Do you want to mount it or release?"His reply-"Release it so I can catch it next year when it will be bigger".

Randall I was smiling from ear to ear reading that story, Way to go man, and on topwater are you kiddin me... So happy for the young fella. And what a fisherman already, his Dad is teaching him right...
Topwater? That had to have been a thrill. Congrats to the young man.
I can't tell what is the biggest:
The fish, the boy's smile or the dad's smile they are all huge.
Great story, way to go young man. Can't wait till mines old enough to cast a line. Chuck
