24volt Wiring for Trolling Motor

This is obviously novice boat owner stuff. But I had to replace a trolling motor battery yesterday and made sure to note the cables and thought I had it all in my head just exactly how it went. Well when I go to hook everything back up I realize that I'm only on 12v and not 24v. So after trying almost every possible combination of crosswiring for 24v I found the right combo and just want to post it here for anybody who gets confused:
Run positive lead to battery A
Run Negative lead to battery B
Run jumper from negative Battery A
Jumper to Positive Battery B

Good post! Here's a link to a page that adds diagrams. Rmember that 24 volt systems can be 2 wire, 3 wire or even 4 wire systems. Diagrams for for all at the link.
