Lake Cumberland Tailwater Boat

I'm planning a trout fishing trip to the Cumberland Tailwaters next month (below Wolf Creek Dam). I've never been there before and am curious if my 17' Tracker Targa (v-bottom aluminum) is too big for the river. I also have a 1436 Jon boat with a 15HP outboard. Which one would be best suited for this river? Any help would be appreciated.

It depends........if they are running water, then the bigger boat is ok......if not you will NEVER get it launched at the ramp at wolf creek.

I'd take the smaller one........

I have never fished below the dam but I have heard that the water can get pretty swift if they are letting the water out. Be careful down there. It might be a task for the 15 HP motor.
