It's a beautiful little lake. The weedbeds are outstanding there. the water was quite murky, though. The fishing pressure wasn't bad, which I found surprising for such a nice day.
This little lake is apparently chock full of channel cats. We caught 4 of them and had a number of bites from others (they were too small to be able to eat the little bluegills I was using for bait LOL). Two of them were large enough to bring back for the skillet.
Also caught a number of shellcrackers and bluegill, but none were large enough to keep. The GF tried to catch some crappie by throwing a small spinner with a tube jig on it, but no luck.
KDFWR stocks this lake pretty regularly, so the catfish are always there in large numbers, if not so much in large size.
I saw a fish that was almost 3 feet long slip past the boat. I didn't get a good enough look to figure out whether it was a grass carp, a regular carp or a catfish, but whatever it was, it BIG!!!
