    Guist Creek Hybrids

I have been trying to catch some hybrids at Guist. Not having alot of luck. Not really looking for numbers just larger hybrids. I live in Lawrenceburg so guist, herrington and t-ville are the three closest lakes for hybrids. Should I go somewhere else?

Barren has numbers of hybrids in 5+ lb range.Been doing good recently there on 5-10 lb range fish .This time of year ,be prepared to cover a lot of water.Find schools of shad in open water- bigger hybrids will be close by.

Been a few years since I really concentrated on Hybrids during the summer at Guist. Used to be that I could get into them pretty consistantly running bucktail jigs off the downrigger. 1/4 oz bucktail with a 4-6 inch twister tail trailer. Any color you want, just make sure you have at least some chartreuse in it (just the trailer would be fine). From the beginning of July until mid Sept when the lake started cooling they would be over the main channel between the marina and the dam. Different places on different days. Troll until you locate good schools of bait/feeding hybrids. Never had to fish deeper than 12 feet, and usually less than 10 feet. Others trolled with rattle traps or various cranks. The main thing is that the lure you use imitates a shad as the hybrids are targeting the Gizzard Shad in the lake.
