Can anyone tell me how the bassfishing is below pool 1 (that's between the dam and the ohio river). Also, can you plane-out all the way from the ohio to the dam or is it too shallow? Lastly, how bad are the asian carp in this area?

I fish that pool all the time. You can run as fast as you want to the dam. The water is 15 to 45 foot deep. about 100 yrds from the dam it gets pretty shallow on both sides of the river. We catch a few bass at the dam but not a great pool for bass. The little Ky river about a mile down the Ohio river on the Ky side is pretty good for large and smallmouth bass. It is alot shallower than the big Ky river. Hope this helps.![]()
yep what he said ....but nothing really happin as far as bass in that pool ....the main river has slowed down to ....lots of short fish ...hopfully after the rain we get this weekend might make it better...temps are still 83
