    Game thoughts

OK I have been defending Joker the last couple of years but after being in the stands on Sunday and watching some of those bone head moves I have to take pause. The on-side kick to start the half worked....was it crazy....in my opinion Yes. Then the play calling was just head scratching at times. Deep on the wrong end of the field when you were still really in the game you go for it on 4th and 9............................REALLY? Me and my buddy couldn't stop laughing, what was he thinking? Then Louisville stops, gets it back and easily scores with a VERY short field.

All I can figure was he thought he had to take chances to win this game but that one was just insane. I think Joker would be a good assitant or maybe a good DC, but a head coach he is not..

Bridgewater is a stud. They guy has gained at least 25lbs of conditioned muscle. If he stays healthy the sky is the limit and if he keeps progressing playing on Sundays will be a given.

"The Joker Farewell Tour - 2012"

He'd make someone a great Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Towel Boy, Bus Driver, hell I don't care...just as long as we aint the someone. I've defended him long enough.

You pretty much hit the high (or low) points Mark...

I'm not saying that our boneheaded calls would have made the difference, because Louisville is the better team, but we did toss you a few creampuffs, ala 2 fumbles inside the 20, and that dumb 4th and 9 gamble on your end of the field. I pretty much felt like taking Bridgewater out was acknowledgement by Louisville that they could score on our defense whenever they needed to. A couple of those holes that our defense created, I think I could have scored through...moonwalking...after having drank a 5th of Makers Mark.

As a UK fan, I was as pessimistic as I've ever been going into the season and that game confirmed that I had a right to be.

Louisville was clearly the better team. UK did leave some points on the table, but UL did as well when they took out Bridgewater so early. I'm not sure I can remember a defensive performance poorer than what was displayed by Kentucky on Sunday. It seemed like EVERY Louisville play went for 7-8 yards or more.

Let's face it, Louisville still isn't a world beater but they looked like one against UK's defense. I shudder to think what it's going to look like when an SEC offense starts shredding UK.

I'm glad I didn't buy tickets to the games this year. I have my parking pass, so I'll go down there and hang around at the stadium. If someone hands me a free pair of tickets, I'll go into the games. Otherwise, I'll stay out in the lot and leave when I feel like it.

Congrats to UL!......I really don't know how good or bad UL is. You can't judge them by this game with UK since UK really really has defensive issues but with Strong at the helm I see nothing but fantastic things for that program.
UK was outmatched, outplayed and outsmarted. I'm not a diehard UK fan and I felt bad for them! I was hoping for a game but only got to watch a beatdown.

I have never, never, ever been a joker fan. People try to shine that turd with admiration, he is a good guy blah blah blah but he is still a turd of a head coach. Time to flush that thing and get a real SEC coach in here.

This game validated one point that I have been hammering home here for the last three years....the difference in talent. Louisville was better at practically every position and the overall team speed was no comparison. Even when UK got a receiver in the flat for a 3-yard pass with blockers ahead, the Louisville speed was too much.

The battle was won up front with Louisville's offensive line who opened holes I could have ran through. They also did a good job protecting Teddy B. I think he was sacked three times, but he could have avoided one of those if he had thrown the ball away.

Bridgewater was exceptional. He went through all his reads and often completed passes to his second or third option, which is a sign of maturity.

I guess Joker must have spent the off-season watching video of the old Hal Mumme offenses. 50 passes? Seriously, 50 passes?

As a sidebar, Cat fans should be extremely happy bobby Petrino was not on the Louisville sidelines. We would have scored 60 by halftime!

My only thoughts are it must be a slow news day at WHAS...Cause the game was Saturday and today is Tuesday but they're still playing high-lights and talking about it.

Sorry fella's...this is about as hyped as I can get about it, lol...

On a separate note, the Reds lost yesterday

Louisville's D has me concerned. UK was moving the ball on them with those short passes just a little to easy for my liking. It got a little better in the second half but still very concerning. Offensively they looked very good. Bridgewater is gonna be special. The kid just gets it. In post game interviews he gave credit to everyone but himself. Very refreshing to see a young fella so intelligent and humble.

Charlie Strong is a beast. I bet that guy could bench press a Prius. Anybody that grabs that better hold on. Those kids TOTALLY respect him, you can see it. No more of that Klownthorpe junk, these kids listen and respond as Strong is a great leader.

Nice win for U of L, but everyone knew from this time last year. That if Joker was still the HC, that Uk would lose this game again.....Man is the games in the sec gonna be sad to see when those elite teams march up and down the field with ease against UK....

U of L didn't really have to prove much this past weekend, basically just show up and let their 2nd string win the game if they really wanted to.....Bridgewater was on fire passing the ball, but then again it was against UK...enough said.....

Looks like on a side note, U of L can be thankful WVA is not in the Big East now, cause they sure looked awesome against Marshall...

Cuse and Pitt, just plain sucked it up and look for both to get beat again this week coming up.........

    Go Longhorns...baby.....

Lmao, the alleged 17 year old likes to act like he is football smart. My son is his age, and he watched the game on tv and broke it down for me Sunday night. He had a different opinion than our local teenage pundit. Of course he might have been tired from the 7 solo tackles and the interception against Southern Friday night!
