Hey Mexico, throwing rocks IS lethal force.

Throw rocks at cops, you get shot. It's pretty simple, really.

They were throwing rocks from the opposite side of the river...very irresponsible for a LEO to fire across the river at some moron chucking rocks. I'm not saying that it's OK to throw rocks at people, but there is fear for one's life...and there is common freaking sense. It would be different if you grabbed a rock and rushed the guy with it, trying to bash his skull in...but they were the width of the Rio Grande away from the guy. I mean, good grief...you know how you protect yourself from a rock thrown from across the river? Step to the right/left? I could dodge a rock thrown across Elkhorn Creek that way and I'm fat and slow...much less the Rio Grande. If you are American Border Patrol in that case, you just get in your truck and drive away. In this case, it was wild west ego and bravado and some wannabe cowboy opened up across the river on Ernesto T Bass chucking rocks. Dumb to use lethal force. Reprimandibly dumb.

I mean big deal one less illegal immigrant to support and one less vote for Obama. Relax......it's just a joke! This story is hard to believe. Anyone who has been trained properly knows better plus common sense should have been used.....unless there is more to this story.

True, we really don't know what more there may be. They haven't released any details. For one thing, I don't know exactly how wide the Rio Grande is at that spot. There are parts where it's not all that wide. And for all we know there may have been multiple people throwing rocks, making it difficult to dodge them all. And why should they have to, standing on American soil? What I do know is that a well-thrown rock IS a deadly weapon, and I really don't have a problem with cops responding to that with deadly force.

    It was a rock

David didn't use a 44 magnum, and you dont bring rocks to a gun fight.
