I agree with this 100%. I'm old school on alot of things and these days its not a popular stance. For example, another thing I think "waters down" actions/gifts of respect is the use of the word "Hero" or "role model". I think those terms should be earned not just given as loosely as they seem to be tossed around.

Hmmm.... I thought I was alone in thinking that, way too many heroes now'a'days, putting on a uniform doesn't make you a hero.
