We live in a log home and I noticed a yellow jacket's nest the other day bored into one of our outside logs and along the seam where two logs meet. I waited till after dark and sprayed the heck out of the hole and the seam. Aha! I thought. Got you,you little boogers. Not so fast. They started escaping the spray by coming into our bedroom in mass.http://forums.iboats.com/images/smilies/eek.gif
I saw the swarm inside as I walked into the bedroom and quickly got stung on my left forearm. It didn't hurt much at the time but as time elapsed it felt like my ulna bone was paralyzed . I took two ibuprofen and still didn't sleep well last night. (slept in another bedroom) I should've stopped the pain by drinking copious quantities of bourbon but I refrained.
This morning I braved opening the affected bedroom door and most but not all of them were dead or dieing. I got out the shop-vac and starting cleaning up the remnants. I love vacuuming the live ones off the window panes and can imagine their pitiful cries as they are sucked into their death. Serves them right for stinging me!!
I left the shop-vac in the bedroom and am now catching them by the two's and three's trying to escape via the window panes.
Hopefully we can return to our bedroom tonight.
