try that stuff plumbers and electricians use I have seen in some of the houses we looked at when mom and dad were out house shopping. It comes in a can and has a tube about 8 to 10 inches long...the stuff is shot out of the can and after it hits the air it swells into a massive caulk like stuff that fills any voids in materials or something like that.

Maybe someone else knows what it is I'm talking about....
