    Gun Show and Political Observations

So, I go to the Kenny Woods Gun Show in Lexington this morning...I was an early bird and one of the first through the doors. The second booth I came to, I was browsing through the Smith & Wesson M&P's and notice the gun that I've been wanting for months but have not been able to find anywhere...the new S&W M&P Shield 9mm single stack carry pistol. Oh, baby...told the guy I'll take it and he laughed. Said "I figured that would be the first one I sold today. First one I've been able to get for months." While I'm filling out the paperwork, two other guys offer me more for the gun than I'm paying for it...one offered me $100 more. I was tempted, but I've really wanted this gun bad. I work through the rest of the show and get stopped a dozen times by people wanting to buy it. Turns out, it's the only one at the show...and fat daddy here snagged it. haha.

Anyway, the show is packed...looked like people throwing cash around right and left. I've been going to these for years and I heard more talk than ever, just listening to people in the crowd, about Obama...how he is going to get re-elected...and how he'll be a real pain in his second term when he doesn't have to worry about re-election. Hmmph. At a gun show, it's about as conservative red-state as you can get...didn't expect to hear people that thought Obama was a lock.

So then, I have to stop by the mall...which I hate...and I stop by the food court to eat a sammich. I hear these two teenage Jonas Brothers looking nimrods in front of me in line talking about how Obama was awesome. Then, be danged if I'm not sitting there eating and hear these other two guys (dressed like they work construction) having a conversation about how it was so busy at the mall, the economy looked pretty good here, and that they thought they ought to vote for Obama so as not to take a chance on screwing any of these good times up. Huh???

I've never heard so much political chatter...and it wasn't about Mitt. It was about Obama. This only strengthens my feeling that this turd is going to get re-elected come November. Ugh.

The debates are looming as Mitt's last chance to make something happen.

Don't think so...........Probably everyone you overheard is an unlikely voter. WHICH is a good thing.

Polls that show Obama in the lead are over polling democrats like crazy. They are also statistically adjusting based on exit polls from the last presidential election. If you look at historically data on turnout, or you look at the 2010 data for turnout, the gains that Obama gets from those artificially inflated numbers go away. There are a few polls that show Romney ahead, and if you give 1/2 of the error or margin or 25% of the undecided voters to Romney, he wins in most swing states.

Yea, I don't even think it is going to be close.

AND your comments about folks talking about Obama in a good light are tempered by comments from folks worried about EVERY embassy in the middle east being attacked over the last couple days. HM.....

Finally, while I'm at it.......why are we not hearing about the embassy attacks as TERRORISM....because that is what it is.....TERRORISM.

GEO. I hope your are right but I have to agree with the above post. People watch too much media and then vote on how they tell them to. I hate it, but............................................

I do hope you're right Geo...even half right...as long as it means Obama has to pack his stuff.

If it was not for the long shot possibility that that "Oh-I-Bombed ya" might get re-elected, I'd have never before had an interest in Canadian Real Estate.

Gills, do you need a neighbor?

What the hell are you talking about?

Here's a link to the Fox News poll showing Obama with a 5% lead over Romney. Please show me this "statistical adjustment" you're referring to.

I will admit that it is very hard finding good numbers due to all the LIES the left tells.....There is not a single news org on the left that cares about this country. They only CARE about re electing Obama. Believe it or not, I actually believe the poll you posted more than most others I've seen, except for the fact that they didn't release their polling numbers.

As for predictive models used for polling......I've found quite a bit of stuff, but most of it is from blog posts.

I COMPLETELY believe that we're not getting the picture correctly and we're not seeing the information presented to the public "correctly". The very fact that Obama's minion Axlerod pressured DOJ to sue Gallop over the very predictive models I'm mentioning proves my case. He was not happy with the methodology Gallop chose, especially since it showed Obama being beat pretty soundly.....

    http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Governm...up-doj-axelrod

Of course.......you're going to post something like this.......so I figured I'd save you the trouble. It states DOJ is suing Gallop over billing. Funny thing though. Axelrod mentions nothing about billing in his twitter rant. YOU THINK the suit is over billing?? NOPE.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/politi...430_story.html

Here's the thing. I read stuff from all sides..........ALL SIDES. Reuters, BBC, FOX, CNN, MSNBC, Times, Post, whatever. I tend to trust certain sources......

Finally......Polls are for FOOLS. They prove nothing. I could create a quick poll on this site that shows Obama being DESTROYED. That poll is neither scientific or accurate, but hey, it's a poll.

OK first off, I never even mentioned the Pew poll. That one has him 10 points ahead, and it probably IS flawed. As for the "how can he win?" link, the logic there is really labored. They mention the "startling fact" the he is still losing the same voting blocs he lost last time, and then make the factually inaccurate statement that Obama has lost half of the Catholic votes he carried last time. http://www.catholicvote.org/discuss/index.php And then ask, "How can he win?"

As for links about the lawsuit, you're right, it's a ridiculous lawsuit by the DOJ, and you're probably right about the motives for it. I don't know what poll they're suing over, though, because the one I was talking about doesn't have Obama being "beaten soundly," it has him ahead by 5%: http://www.gallup.com/poll/150743/Obama-Romney.aspx

but you're right, it's only a poll, and polls only mean so much. Personally, I think if the election were held tomorrow, Obama would win. You obviously disagree with that. No use in arguing; it doesn't really matter until November.

You're probably right....If the election were tomorrow, Obama would probably win.

I'd hate it, but facts are facts.....actually I'm really more interested in the house and senate races this time around. Sure Obama may win the presidency, but if pubs take the house and senate, that will definitely slow stuff down.

CHAOS, whether you like it or not, is GOOD for the country....especially right now, since we've leaned significantly to the left.

Polls taken...where are these polls? Where do they take place? I do not remember ever being polled before. No one I know has mentioned that they have been polled either. Has someone called you guys up and asked you who you're voting for because they need to include it in their polls?
